Position Summary
The position of the Opioid Use Disorder and Opioid Overdose Prevention Health Educator with the MAT Team will be responsible for the following: intra-agency training of staff, patients, and family members in opioid overdose prevention with naloxone; community outreach, engagement, and training in opioid overdose prevention with naloxone and on opioid use disorder, treatment, and stigma (at churches, schools, jails, colleges/universities, health fairs, et cetera); quality improvement development and data analysis of the opioid overdose prevention program and the MAT (medication assisted treatment) program; maintain naloxone kit supply/assembly and distribute to HRHCare clinic sites on demand; participate in applicable MAT meetings and designated site MAT case conferences, conduct MAT intake screenings with patients, complete MAT case conference documentation, and complete additional assignments/projects as per the MAT Manager’s direction and as per the Opioid Use Disorder and Opioid Overdose Prevention Health Educator’s interests.

facilitating, overseeing, and coordinating health classes

navigating patients to other social services,
registering patients in the case management system,
providing access to and awareness of resources for
patients
coordinating with other programs to expand
partnerships
conduct classes and one-on-one education

Skill with Microsoft Office or other software for a variety
of data processing operations involving a range of
problem solving, record keeping, correspondence, and
service tracking options
Supervision
Member uses initiative in carrying out recurring
assignments following set procedures, independently.
The supervisor assigns service activities, advises on
changes in procedures, and is available for assistance
when required.
Review
The service activities are reviewed for accuracy through
spot checks, through complaints from customers, and
through observation of the Member at service.
Completed projects are reviewed very generally to
determine that objectives have been met and are in
compliance with policies and regulations.
Guidelines
Detailed guidelines exist, including regulations and
directives, handbooks, precedents, industry standards
and files of previous projects.
Member must use considerable judgment in adapting
current or developing new guidance.
Complexity
The facts or conditions of the service position are clear
cut, predictable, and apply directly to the assignment.
The Member must develop new techniques, methods, or
approaches to complete service position assignments.
