Why Serve New York?

NHC New York members serve within an integrated network of federally qualified health centers across the Hudson Valley and Long Island regions. Members fulfill their hours through direct service activities that increase access to care, including providing health education and prevention services such as outreach, screenings, medication assistance, and care management. Members have the opportunity to obtain professional development training throughout their service term based on personal or career interests. The New York program is especially beneficial for those interested in exposure and hands-on experience in a health center setting. NHC NY members can enjoy the beautiful Hudson Valley full of breathtaking mountains and plenty of great hiking spots, while still being a train ride away from the city that never sleeps!
