Advocate Trinity Hospital
Health Educator for Diabetes Prevention
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. I consider the heart of the city to be my home.
Why did you decide to join NHC?
I decided to join NHC not only to impact my life, but the lives of many. Our mission is to eliminate health disparities in the communities that need it most. As someone that has grown up in one of those communities and having seen what we have lacked firsthand, I feel compelled to serve people that look like me.
What are you hoping to gain or learn during your service term?
I hope to gain humility. Staying focused on my goal and giving up superficial desires has kept me humble and grateful for the position that I am in. I hope to improve my public speaking skills so that I can continue to share vital information to the people whom I serve daily.
What are you most looking forward to during your service term?
I am looking forward to completing my term! In a day and age where many pick up things and put them down shortly after, I want to prove to myself and my peers that with humility and grace, we can start and finish any service, project, or goal we put our mind to.
