Humans of NHC: Stacy Smithee

“While I am new to the healthcare field, I have worked in the non-profit sector for almost 10 years and am proud of the work that is accomplished every day by people who are passionate about their cause. There was not a specific moment when I realized this was the profession for me, but rather a ton of little moments along the way. My favorite aspect of my current role at EDCHC involves community outreach. I love connecting with the community and helping to bridge the gap between people and resources, while also learning about the amazing work of our community partners. It takes a village in the non-profit world, but there is nowhere I would rather be! I am inspired by helping others recognize their full potential and reach their goals. I have been lucky enough to have amazing mentors, in both my personal and professional life, who have encouraged me to be my best self. At this stage of my life, I am energized by offering that same support to others. There is nothing more satisfying than watching someone gain confidence in their own abilities, knowing that you played a small part in their growth and development. “We rise by lifting others” – Robert Ingersoll.” – Stacy Smithee, Administrative Services Manager at the El Dorado Community Health Centers. #HumansofNHC #NHCCentralCalifornia #AmeriCorps #ApplyNow
