Carly Bass
Program Director, NHC Philadelphia

Carly Bass (she/her) has been living in Philadelphia since 2014 when she relocated to serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA member. She graduated from Susquehanna University with a BA in Creative Writing. While writing still remains a hobby (and sometimes part time job) for Carly, her main drive in storytelling has always been human behavior. This passion for sociology drove her into the field of nonprofit and social services. After two years of AmeriCorps service, Carly transitioned into working within the compliance department for Women Against Abuse. She was only there for a few months before stumbling upon the Program Coordinator position and feeling like it would be the perfect fit!

Outside of work you can find Carly running on local trails and city streets or in South Philly playing kickball with Stonewall Sports Philadelphia. She is the Member Experience Director on the Board for this sports league. She also regularly volunteers with Camp Brave Trails, an LGBTQ+ youth leadership camp. Although her favorite thing to do is watch Netflix while snuggling with her two cats.
