Why did you join NHC Pittsburgh?
I wanted to support my community while also developing skills and experiences that would help me grow as a public health professional.
What do you hope to gain or learn during your service term?
I hope to be exposed to a variety of the roles and functions that make up the community-level public health system in Pittsburgh. I want to be able to put faces and names to the services that directly support the people and communities of Pittsburgh.
What are you most looking forward to during your service term?
I am looking forward to seeing more of the different neighborhoods that make up Pittsburgh.
What is something you appreciate about serving in Pittsburgh/at your Host Site?
One of the best parts of my role is being able to interact with people across the many different Pittsburgh communities. Pittsburgh is full of kind, honest, and hardworking people that make me feel lucky to do what I do.
What are your plans after your service as an AmeriCorps member?
I plan on pursuing a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management at Emory University Rollins School of Public Health.
