What is your title and role at your host site? I will be a Physical Activity Educator and my role is to promote and educate children ranging from 5 to 12 years old on physical activity and good nutrition. Also, I'll mentor a high school student once per week to build their self-esteem and encourage good grades.

Why did you join AmeriCorps/National Health Corps? I joined AmeriCorps because it would be a good opportunity for me to expand my leadership skills and at the same time be involved in the health field during my gap year between undergrad and graduate school.

What are you hoping to gain from your year of service? I hope to gain many memorable experiences and lasting relationships through my year of service. I also hope to gain leadership and other skills to help me continue to be a successful person.

What are your plans after AmeriCorps service? I plan to enroll in a school of Public Health for a MPH in Epidemiology.

Where do you envision yourself in 5 years? I envision myself being an Epidemiologist working for a government agency and also being a mentor.
