Where are you from?

I’ve been in the Bay Area my entire life, born and raised in Oakland, then living in Berkeley when I was in college!

Why did you decide to join NHC?

NHC’s mission to support public health initiatives for under-served communities resonated with my passion for community health, addressing adverse health outcomes, and increasing access to resources. I am excited for this opportunity to deepen my understanding of public health programs and how to improve health outcomes through health education and community outreach.

What are you hoping to gain or learn during your service term?

Through this service, I hope to gain real-life public health experience and learn from my peers, the SF community, and public health professionals. I am excited to learn more about the programs, services, and resources that support the needs of the community. I also hope to develop my skills in community outreach and engagement.

What are you most looking forward to during your service term?

I’m looking forward to connecting with my cohort and host site and getting familiar with the city!
