Outreach Coordinator

Position Summary

The Outreach Coordinator will serve the community by providing outreach services, education and support people with epilepsy and their families, especially in rural areas of Northeast PA.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Meet with the Kiwanis, Rotary, and Women’s Clubs in rural areas about the EFEPA
services and resources.
2. Present seizure recognition and first aid training to interested organizations, especially
those in public safety and law enforcement.
3. Present seizure recognition and first aid training in schools and libraries for families and
children, churches, youth groups, and boy scouts in rural areas.
4. Once EFEPA builds relationships with community organizations and PWE in these rural
areas we could form a support group(s).
5. Contact hospitals/neurologists in rural areas to let them know about the EFEPA and
deliver epilepsy information packets to them to give to patients and their families.

Knowledge of AmeriCorps/Health Corps member requirements

Supervision

The supervisor assigns service activities, advises on changes in procedures, and is available for assistance when required

Review

The member independently plans and carries out the projects and selects the approaches and methods to be used in solving problems, Completed projects are reviewed very generally to determine that objectives have been met and are in compliance with policies and regulations.

Guidelines

Detailed guidelines exist, including regulations and directives, handbooks, precedents, industry standards, and files of previous projects

Complexity

The facts or conditions of the service position are clear cut, predictable, and apply directly to the assignment
