Teen Squad Program is a year-round program that helps develop teen girls' leadership skills by engaging them in coaching younger girls, conducting service projects, interviewing professional women, going on college visits, and more. Teens earn scholarship money through their participation. 

Girls in the Game also provides trauma-informed, girl-driven programs in residential facilities like the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center, where teens can stay active and develop their leadership skills.

This is an amazing opportunity to influence and engage teen girls to lead fun, healthy lifestyle programs for high school girls. People who are part of our program will develop knowledge and skills across their areas of interest while serving for an amazing culture that empowers women. Ideal candidates must possess an innate desire to connect with people, especially teens and young girls.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Teen Program Manager at high schools, managing key events and projects around recruiting, selecting, and training 75 teen club members (curriculum is provided).
• Proactively identify opportunities to enhance our current recruitment and engagement strategy and help develop new communication, outreach, and program content. Engagement platforms include Mailchimp, Eventbrite, Instagram, and other forms of communication.
• Set up and chaperone several city-wide field trips for Teen Club and Teen Squad that include career exploration field trips where they interview women in a variety of exciting fields.
• Assist with Teen Squad recruitment, working with the manager to attend recruitment events and conduct outreach until Teen Squad is at maximum capacity.
• Create, manage, track, and promote Teen programming events.
• Build key relationships with Girls in the Game stakeholders, i.e., site contacts, parents, teens, etc.
• Maintain and organize all participant data and information on our Salesforce and SharePoint databases.
• Secure small donations of prizes for teens to earn for participation.

Knowledge Required for the Position

  • Knowledge of AmeriCorps/Health Corps member requirements
  • Skill with Microsoft Office or other software for a variety of data processing operations involving a range of problem solving, record keeping, correspondence, and service tracking options.

Supervision

  • The supervisor assigns service activities, advises on changes in procedures, and is available for assistance when required
  • The supervisor assigns service activities in terms of project objectives and basic priorities and is available for consultation in resolving controversial issues.

Review

  • he service activities are reviewed for accuracy through spot checks, through complaints from customers, and through observation of the member at service.
  • Completed projects are reviewed very generally to determine that objectives have been met and are in compliance with policies and regulations.

Guidelines

  • Written and oral guides provide specific instructions for doing service
  • Detailed guidelines exist, including regulations and directives, handbooks, precedents, industry standards, and files of previous projects
  • Member must use considerable judgment in adapting current or developing new guidance
