Position Title: Healthy Neighborhoods Coordinator

Where are you from? Delaware

Why did you decide to join NHC?

I am passionate about addressing health inequities in innovative and interdisciplinary ways, and I have a desire to directly serve all individuals, especially those who have been historically marginalized by our healthcare system. I joined NHC to have a direct, hands-on impact in my community by supporting equitable access to health resources and promoting overall wellness.

What are you hoping to gain or learn during your service term?

During my service term, I hope to gain experience addressing health disparities while engaging in new and diverse experiences that broaden my understanding of community health. I aim to strengthen my skills in health education, outreach, and program coordination while learning how public health systems and community organizations collaborate to improve access to care.

Through active community involvement, I hope to foster meaningful relationships with people of different backgrounds. I want to deepen my understanding of the social determinants of health and the systemic barriers that impact equity and well-being. By immersing myself in new environments and diverse perspectives, I hope to grow both personally and professionally. Ultimately, I want this experience to shape my future career path and strengthen my lifelong commitment to service, inclusion, and health equity.
