Why did you decide to join NHC?

I decided to join NHC because I believe in creating meaningful change through hands-on community engagement. I’ve always been passionate about improving access, awareness, and equity in health and wellness especially in communities that are often overlooked or under-resourced. I was drawn to the program’s focus on collaboration, cultural competency, and capacity-building, all of which align with my long-term goals of leading initiatives that improve community.

What are you hoping to gain or learn during your service term?

During my service term, I hope to deepen my understanding of community, build stronger facilitation and outreach skills, and gain practical experience in program development and evaluation. I want to learn how to better design and implement initiatives that empower people to take charge of their own well-being. I’m also hoping to grow as a leader learning to balance empathy with efficiency, and to build partnerships that create sustainable impact.
