Opioid Use Care Coordinator

Where are you from?

Though I grew up in Southern California for the majority of my life, I moved to Davis, California for university and have stayed in Northern California since then.

Why did you decide to join NHC?

I thought this would be an incredibly unique opportunity to dedicate myself to serving the community and learning more about the role I can have supporting others in healthcare. As I worked with various under-served populations in college, I found these experiences really fulfilling. Ultimately, I grew curious about how much more I could contribute and learn in a full-time service position.

What are you hoping to gain or learn during your service term?

I plan to develop my skills in directly communicating with patients and the public about sensitive topics and becoming more knowledgeable about the specific barriers of our healthcare system. By being directly involved and reflecting on our efforts alongside my community and peers, I hope to gain a broader view of patient care from a personal and a community standpoint and apply this perspective to my career as a future healthcare provider.

What are you most looking forward to during your service term?

With this being my first time working in an urban setting like San Francisco, I look forward to exploring the city and sharing conversations with the team and community here!
