Position Title:

Where are you from?

State College, PA

Why did you decide to join NHC?

I joined NHC to gain firsthand experience working in public health and with communities facing health disparities and inequities. I was looking for an opportunity that would allow me not only to explore the possibilities of healthcare careers, but also to use my time to help better the healthcare system in the U.S., so NHC seemed like the perfect fit.

What are you hoping to gain or learn during your service term?

I hope to gain a better understanding of the problems facing communities in accessing and receiving quality care, and to learn what solutions are being worked on. I also hope to gain a better understanding of what I want my future career to look like, and to know what part of the healthcare system is a good fit for me.

What are you most looking forward to during your service term?

I’m most looking forward to meeting people involved in my service term, including program staff, host site members and mentors, and especially the other cohort members. I’m also really looking forward to gaining firsthand experience working within public health.
