Program Coordinator, NHC Delaware: Community Health Fellowship

Samantha Decenord (she/her) has served as Program Coordinator for National Health Corps Delaware since June 2021. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in 2017 at Delaware State University.  While at Delaware State University, Samantha joined Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., which solidified her mission to dedicate her life to serving the community.  Prior to NHC, Samantha gained experience in public health starting at All Therapy Physical Therapy in 2015, where she assisted in clinical duties, healthcare marketing, and curating community health programming. In 2018, Samantha provided clinical services and sexual health educational resources with Planned Parenthood of Delaware. In that same year, Samantha co-founded Project H.E.A.L. (Helping Enrich Advocacy in Lives), which is a community organization with a primary focus in enhancing the local community through service, fundraising, education, and social events. While organizing community programming, Samantha also worked as a full-time healthcare administrator for 3+ years. Her love for health, wellness and community brought her to NHC so that she can embrace them all. In 2020, Samantha received a Champion of Service award in lieu of the Jefferson Awards and became a youth mentor for the Black Achievers program at the Walnut St YMCA. Samantha’s hobbies include exercising, meditation, listening to music, thrifting, cooking, traveling, being in nature, and spending fun times with family and friends.
