Educational Background: B.A. in psychology from the University of Notre Dame

Why did you join National Health Corps?
I joined National Health Corps because I was impacted greatly by a service experience while in college. I enjoy learning from diverse experiences and believe National Health Corps will be just that! I am also excited to work with like-minded people who have a similar commitment to service.

What are your plans after AmeriCorps service?
I plan on attending medical school where I hope to also get a masters in public health.

Tell us about an employment, service, or research experience that was important to you.
While at Notre Dame, I participated in their Summer Service Learning Program through the Center for Social Concerns. This was the most transformative experience I have had working in healthcare. Through this program, I lived on-site at a homeless shelter for two-months and interned at their free clinic. I was able to  witness first-hand the physical and psychological effects of living in poverty.

What first sparked your interest in community service?
My interest in community service was first sparked when I worked as an intern for Penn State Hershey Medical Center's Community Outreach Department.

What about Philadelphia excites you the most?
I am excited about living in a big city and exploring all that it has to offer.
